Nicholas Galitzine gets candid about Hollywood struggles ahead of 'He-Man' debut

Nicholas Galitzine is reflecting on his long road to Hollywood success after landing the iconic role of He-Man in Masters of the Universe, describing the moment as both surreal and emotional.

Speaking during the film’s premiere events, the 31-year-old actor opened up about the years of uncertainty he experienced early in his career, recalling a time when he arrived in Los Angeles for pilot season with little stability and big ambitions.

“I remember coming out here exactly where we’re standing as a 20-year-old,” Galitzine said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I’d stay here for three months and sleep on people’s couches.”

The actor explained that he often dreamed about one day returning to Hollywood for a major film premiere of his own, making the experience feel especially meaningful now.

“I thought if I could ever have a movie here that would be pretty amazing,” he said. “So it’s very pinch me. But I’m trying to sort of soak it all in.”

Galitzine also discussed the intense physical transformation required to portray the legendary He-Man character, admitting the role initially felt intimidating because of the superhero’s famously muscular appearance.

Speaking separately with Empire Magazine, the actor said preparing for the role came with significant pressure.

“I think anyone seeing that iconic physique would find it extremely daunting,” he shared.

The upcoming film features a star-studded ensemble cast including Idris Elba, Jared Leto, Camila Mendes and Alison Brie.

Masters of the Universe is currently scheduled for theatrical release on June 5, 2026, and marks one of Galitzine’s biggest leading roles to date as his Hollywood profile continues to rise.
