Meghan Markle appears to be rethinking her approach to social media, with the Duchess of Sussex now occasionally featuring her children on her official Instagram account — a notable change for a mother who has fiercely guarded her family's privacy since departing the United Kingdom in 2020.

A deliberate, selective shift

Branding expert Megan Dooley, speaking to the Daily Mail, said the change has not gone unnoticed. "We certainly have seen a noticeable shift in Meghan's approach to featuring her children on public social media, especially when we compare it to hers and Harry's earlier dedication to privacy," she said.

"But a closer look suggests that these appearances are very selective and intentional rather than casual and unplanned," Dooley added.

The risk of a brand-first approach

However, the expert also struck a note of caution. "The risk, as with any founder-led lifestyle brand, is that audiences are increasingly sharp at spotting family content that serves the brand first," she warned. "Meghan's challenge is keeping it feeling effortless rather than engineered," Dooley noted.

Life in California after leaving the Royal Family

Prince Harry stepped back from the Royal Family in 2020, along with his wife Meghan Markle and their son, Prince Archie.

The couple subsequently levelled accusations of racism against the Royal Family regarding their son, airing their grievances publicly on television.

Harry and Meghan have since settled in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
