The Weeknd surprises fans by adding Japan shows to Asia tour

The Weeknd is giving fans across Asia more opportunities to see him perform live, announcing additional tour dates as part of his ongoing regional run ahead of his planned retirement of the iconic stage name.

The Grammy-winning artist, born Abel Tesfaye, recently took to social media to unveil new concert dates in Hong Kong, where he is scheduled to perform on October 24, 25, 30 and 31.

He also confirmed a three-night stop in Bangkok on October 11, 12 and 13.

The announcement was soon followed by another surprise for fans: the addition of Japan to the Asia leg of the tour.

Before revealing the latest dates, Tesfaye teased the news on social media, writing, “Another ASIA update soon…” — a message that immediately sparked speculation among fans eager to learn which country would be added next.

The update triggered a wave of excitement online, with fans across the region sharing requests for additional performances.

Many supporters in India, who were disappointed not to see their country included in previous announcements, renewed calls for the singer to add dates there as well.

“India please, you still have time, you can do it,” one fan wrote on X, while others speculated that more tour stops could still be announced.

The expanded schedule comes as Tesfaye continues what many fans view as a farewell chapter under The Weeknd moniker.

The singer has previously suggested that he intends to move away from the stage name that helped make him one of the world's most successful music artists.

While details regarding future announcements remain unclear, the latest additions underscore the strong demand for The Weeknd’s live performances across Asia as fans seek one more chance to experience the artist’s chart-topping hits on stage.
