Jennifer Aniston fondly remembers ex Brad Pitt's guest role on 'Friends'

Jennifer Aniston has revisited a warm memory involving her ex-husband Brad Pitt, reflecting on his guest appearance on Friends during a recent conversation with her longtime friend and co-star Lisa Kudrow.

A trip down memory lane

The two actresses sat down together for Variety's Actors on Actors series, where they looked back on their years on the beloved sitcom.

Aniston, who played Rachel Green throughout the show's decade-long run on ABC, and Kudrow, who portrayed Phoebe Buffay, found themselves reminiscing about the roster of Hollywood names who had dropped by for guest roles over the years.

"Did you like the Thanksgiving episodes?" Jennifer asked. "Those were fun."

"Yes. Those were great, the Thanksgiving episodes," Lisa agreed, noting, "When Brad was on, that was hilarious."

Brad Pitt's memorable cameo

Pitt appeared in the show's eighth season as Will Colbert, a character who had been a close friend of Monica and Ross during their high school years — but who harboured a deep dislike for Rachel. The episode was part of the show's celebrated run of Thanksgiving specials.

Aniston went on to reflect on how unexpectedly nervous many of the high-profile guest stars had been on set, citing a string of A-list names.

"We had so many - Sean Penn. They were always nervous. Remember? I always found it fascinating how nervous they were," Jennifer said, referencing the cameos of Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Bruce Willis, and Isabella Rossellini.

At the time of Pitt's appearance on Friends, the couple were still married. Aniston and Pitt had begun dating in 1998 and wed in 2000, quickly becoming one of Hollywood's most talked-about couples.

Their marriage came to an end in 2005, after which Pitt went on to date Angelina Jolie, having met her on the set of Mr & Mrs. Smith.

Aniston has since moved on and is currently in a relationship with wellbeing guru Jim Curtis, with whom she began dating in 2025.
