Dwyane Wade gets candid about Gabrielle Union’s scent routine and their intimate bond

Dwyane Wade has opened up about his wife Gabrielle Union’s signature fragrance routine, revealing that her carefully layered scents play a surprising role in their relationship.

Speaking at the Fragrance Foundation Awards in New York City on June 11, Wade told People that Union often mixes different perfumes and lotions to create a personal scent tailored specifically for him.

“I love that she will mix different scents and different lotions,” Wade said. “She knows what I like to smell. She knows like the scents that kind of arouse me a little bit.”

He added that he can immediately recognize when she’s wearing his favourite combination.

“When I smell it, I know that it's going to be a good night for us,” he said. “Like we're going to go out to dinner, we're going to have a good night, and she got that scent on she knows I love, and I can't keep my hands off of her.”

Wade, who is the global ambassador for Aramis fragrance line Intuition, also spoke about his broader passion for grooming and scent culture, saying he hopes more men take fragrance seriously.

“You want that person to be stylish, you want that person to be confident,” he said of the brand’s philosophy, adding that it’s important to avoid “being musty” and instead focus on staying “fresh.”

Beyond fragrance, Wade also shared details about his Father’s Day plans, saying he would spend part of the day with Union and their children before heading out on a golf trip with friends.

“My wife is actually sending me on a golf trip,” he said.

Wade and Union, who married in 2014, share daughter Kaavia, 7. Wade is also father to Zaya, 19, Zaire, 24, and Xavier, 11, as well as legal guardian to nephew Dahveon Morris, 22.

The couple recently marked another milestone year together, with Union previously crediting humor and emotional connection as key parts of their long-running marriage.
