Teenager, 18, dies a week after construction vehicle incident in Essex park
Two teens have been arrested in connection with the case as police continue their investigation
An 18-year-old woman has died a week after being injured in an incident involving a construction vehicle allegedly taken over by a group of teenagers in a park in Essex, England.
Police confirmed that Tallulah Bradford died on Friday, June 19, following injuries sustained during the incident at Chalkwell Park on June 13.
According to Essex Police, officers were called to the park around 12:30 a.m. after reports that a group of young people had “taken unauthorized control of a small articulated loading vehicle,” a type of construction machinery used for lifting and transporting materials.
Authorities said Bradford was believed to have been involved in an incident with the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital but later died.
Following her death, police said an 18-year-old man from Westcliff and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Both suspects have since been released on bail pending further investigation, with conditions extending until September.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses, saying a large number of young people were in the area at the time of the incident.
“We know there were a large number of young people in the area at the time, and we believe some may have witnessed what happened,” Essex Police said.
“We need anyone who has information and who we’ve not already spoken with to come forward.”
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.
