Taylor Swift and Blake Lively friendship remains on ice despite reconciliation reports

Swift reportedly feels 'hurt' and 'used' after being dragged into Lively's legal battle

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively friendship remains on ice despite reconciliation reports
  • Taylor Swift has not sent Blake Lively a wedding invitation, sources say
  • Swift reportedly felt like a 'pawn' in Lively's legal battle with Justin Baldoni
  • The pair's friendship, which began in 2015, soured over the Baldoni lawsuit

Taylor Swift has not sent Blake Lively a wedding invitation ahead of her upcoming nuptials to Travis Kelce, 36, directly contradicting earlier reports suggesting the two were working towards a reconciliation.

A source exclusively told Page Six that the rift between the pair remains firmly in place. "There hasn't been an olive branch when it comes to their friendship," the insider said. "And Taylor hasn't extended a wedding invitation to Blake."

Reconciliation reports denied

The clarification follows a Daily Mail report claiming that Swift, 35, and Lively, 38, had resumed contact in the wake of the legal fallout surrounding Lively's dispute with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, 42. That report suggested Swift had grown more receptive to communication as the lawsuit wound down, and that Lively was feeling optimistic about repairing the friendship.

One insider had gone as far as claiming that "everyone around Taylor is aware that Blake could attend" the ceremony, while another alleged the actress was "slowly getting back into the fold." However, Page Six's source flatly contradicted those claims, confirming no invitation has been extended to Lively for Swift's upcoming wedding to Kelce.

'Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation'

The seeds of the falling-out were sown when Swift's name was drawn into the ongoing legal battle between Lively and Baldoni. A source previously told Page Six that Swift "needs space" from the actress as a result.

"Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn," an insider said at the time, adding: "Taylor wants nothing to do with this whole ordeal. She has always been a loyal friend to Blake and doesn't appreciate being thrown into this at all."

A friendship a decade in the making

Swift and Lively's friendship first began in 2015 after Lively shared a photograph from a L'Oréal campaign that referenced Swift's Bad Blood music video. The post caught the singer's attention, and the two began spending time together in the years that followed.

Reports emerged in May that Swift had originally decided to exclude Lively from the wedding guest list entirely. At that time, however, an insider suggested there was "a far greater chance" of an invitation being extended following the resolution of Lively's sexual harassment case against Baldoni. The latest source statement appears to close the door on that possibility, at least for now.
