Veteran actress Wai Ching Ho, best known for portraying the mysterious villain Madame Gao in Marvel's Daredevil, Iron Fist and other Marvel Cinematic Universe series, has died at the age of 82.

Her death was announced by Daredevil co-star Peter Shinkoda, who shared an emotional tribute on Instagram.

"Just lost someone very special to me," he wrote before later adding, "I won't ever forget you. I learned every minute from you... We will meet again, my friend."

Actor Perry Yung revealed that Ho passed away peacefully after suffering a stroke two days earlier, remembering her as "a kind, compassionate human being" whose talent elevated every production she joined.

Actress Mahira Kakkar also paid tribute, describing Ho as "warm, funny, caring, joyful, positive and a truly wonderful actor."

She called the late star a mentor and role model who inspired generations of performers.

Beyond Marvel, Ho appeared in films including Premium Rush, Hustlers and Pixar's Turning Red, where she voiced Grandma Wu.

Her television credits also included Fresh Off the Boat, Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens and Only Murders in the Building.
