Pat McAfee reveals why Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce wedding left guests stunned
Pat McAfee shared fresh details from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding, describing the celebration as “the greatest night of all time” and saying the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is “very much in love” with the pop superstar.
Speaking on the July 13 episode of The Pat McAfee Show, the ESPN host reflected on the couple’s July 3 wedding at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, calling it “the most spectacular evening” he had ever attended.
McAfee says wedding was ‘the greatest night of all time’
McAfee, 39, attended the ceremony with his wife, Samantha McAfee, alongside a host of celebrities, including Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, Emma Stone, Ethan Hawke, Lena Dunham, Millie Bobby Brown and Brad Pitt.
“The football world coming together with Hollywood and Nashville ... It was the greatest night of all time,” McAfee said.
He added that guests were treated to performances by Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks during the reception, with Swift also joining the music legends on stage.
“My wife and I had a blast,” McAfee said. “They absolutely showcased that they are in love, it was very obvious ... That wedding was a perfect night.”
‘Travis Kelce’s very much in love’
McAfee also offered insight into Kelce’s mindset following the wedding.
“Travis Kelce’s very much in love, he’s very happy,” he said, praising the couple’s evident affection throughout the celebration.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, first sparked romance rumours in 2023 before confirming their relationship later that year. They announced their engagement in August 2025 and married 11 months later in New York City.
According to a statement from Swift’s representative, the ceremony was officiated by actor Adam Sandler. Instead of a traditional bridal party, Swift chose her brother, Austin Swift, as her man of honour, while Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, served as best man.
Newlyweds enjoy post-wedding travels
Since exchanging vows, the couple have spent time travelling across the US. They recently visited Montana with Kelce’s family before attending the Southern California wedding of former Chiefs teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster on July 10.
Kelce is expected to return to football later this month when he reports for Kansas City Chiefs training camp ahead of his 14th NFL season.
