Actress Zendaya turned heads on Tuesday evening at the New York City red carpet premiere of The Odyssey by wearing ethereal angel wings. The star arrived at the event wearing a plunging, off-white strapless gown from designer Matières Fécales, which featured a high thigh slit, a long train, and dramatic matching feathered wings stretching past her shoulders.

E! News reported during a red carpet livestream that the actress and her longtime stylist, Law Roach, had held onto the dramatic look for two years before its public debut. Speaking during the livestream, Zendaya explained that Roach had secured the outfit long ago, adding that they are usually on the same page when collaborating on her wardrobe.

The 29-year-old actress, who portrays the Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare, Athena in the film, accessorised her look with sculptural white wedge heels and jewelled Chopard chandelier earrings. She styled her hair in a soft, curly braid running down her back and finished the look with a natural makeup palette. Before entering the venue, she posed for photographers to showcase the detailed angles of the feathered outfit.

Fans reacted with immense praise across social media platforms, calling the look flawless, mesmerising, and iconic. Her husband, Tom Holland, also attended the New York City event, walking the red carpet in a monochromatic black suit. Other cast members from the Greek epic, including Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Matt Damon, and Lupita Nyong'o, joined the couple at the gathering.

The premiere follows previous promotional stops in London and Paris earlier this month for the highly anticipated Christopher Nolan film. At the earlier Paris premiere, the actress chose a custom white lace cutout gown by Louis Vuitton.
