Sam Asghari shares rare comment about ex-wife Britney Spears after their split

Sam Asghari is looking back on his relationship with ex-wife Britney Spears with respect, saying he has "nothing but love" for the pop superstar despite their split nearly three years ago.

During a recent interview with Extra, the 32-year-old actor and model reflected on his past marriage to Spears, emphasizing that he prefers to focus on the positive memories and lessons from that chapter of his life.

"I always like to stay respectful of the past. I love to celebrate the past and, you know, what happens in your life in every chapter," Asghari said.

"It's nothing but love and nothing but experiences that you get to learn," he added.

Asghari's latest comments come months after he expressed support for Spears' reported decision to seek treatment earlier this year.

Speaking to TMZ at the time, he said he believed any step toward healing was a positive one.

"I think it's great," he said. "I think anything that has anything to do with healing and great things … and as long as the person is in charge of that, it's all great."

When asked whether he had been in contact with Spears, Asghari simply replied, "Uh, no."

The former couple first met in 2016 after appearing together in Spears' "Slumber Party" music video.

They tied the knot in June 2022 but separated in August 2023, bringing their marriage to an end after just over a year.
