Jessie J breaks silence on Chanan Colman breakup
The relationship update comes months after Jessie J announced she was cancer-free following treatment
Jessie J has confirmed that she and longtime partner Chanan Colman have ended their romantic relationship, revealing the pair separated "some time ago" but remain committed to raising their son together.
The 38-year-old singer shared the news in an Instagram statement, explaining that the breakup has been a private and emotional journey. Jessie and the basketball player began dating in 2021 and share two-year-old son Sky.
“Chanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago,” Jessie wrote.
“It has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co-parenting environment for our son, and ourselves.”
The Price Tag hitmaker said she decided to speak publicly about the split before rumors or false stories emerged.
“Unfortunately being in the public eye this is the easiest way to let people know the truth, before rumours circulate or a false narrative is written,” she added.
Although their romance has ended, Jessie stressed that she and Colman will continue supporting each other as friends while putting their son first.
“We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Sky’s Mum and Dad,” she wrote.
She added that fans may still see them spending time together as a family or appearing in each other’s social media posts because they remain united in co-parenting.
“Raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship.”
The announcement comes months after Jessie celebrated a major milestone in her health journey.
The singer revealed in June 2025 that she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and later underwent a mastectomy. Earlier this year, she shared the joyful news that she was cancer-free following her annual MRI scan.
“RESULTS ARE IN AND I AM CANCER FREE!!” Jessie announced on Instagram.
“I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year.”
Despite the personal changes in her life, Jessie has made it clear that she and Colman remain focused on creating a loving and supportive environment for their son.
