New York Cares launches 'Eras Tour' packing party for school students
  • New York Cares hosted an Eras Tour-themed packing party inspired by Taylor Swift.
  • Volunteers packed 2,200 backpacks with school supplies for local New York City students.
  • The organisation also launched a Swift-themed digital fundraiser with symbolic donation amounts.

Non-profit volunteer organisation New York Cares scheduled a massive, high-energy Eras Tour-themed packing party to assemble thousands of essential school supplies for local students. The initiative reflects how the global phenomenon surrounding pop star Taylor Swift and professional football player Travis Kelce has officially taken over the world of local volunteerism. Inspired directly by the newlywed couple's recent wedding and massive joint multimillion-dollar charitable donations, the community event will take place at PS 20M elementary school on July 30, 2026.

An official social media announcement published on the Kelcebrothers Instagram page confirmed that the event provides fans with a fun way to pay forward the couple's generosity. The post noted that New York Cares organised the gathering following a substantial wedding donation made to the organisation by Swift and Kelce. Volunteers working across two distinct evening shifts will pack a total of 2,200 backpacks for New York City students heading back to school this autumn. Organisers structured the packing party into two specific shifts running from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm and from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Volunteers gathered to celebrate the newlywed couple in true Swiftie fashion while filling the bags with critical classroom materials for local children. Reflecting the signature culture of the Eras Tour, participants enthusiastically traded handmade friendship bracelets throughout the event. As a special thank-you gesture, each individual who volunteered for a shift received an exclusive, limited-edition "JUST&T MARRIED!" enamel pin featuring a custom design honouring the pair.

In addition to the physical packing party, the organisation launched an ambitious, Swift-themed digital fundraising campaign alongside the volunteer work. Set with a symbolic goal of attracting 198 unique donors, New York Cares encouraged online supporters to contribute through specialised monetary increments. Supporters were invited to donate in amounts of $13, representing Swift's lucky number, alongside $26 and $87, which represent Kelce's football jersey number.

The charitable project successfully transformed widespread pop culture excitement into practical community assistance for families preparing for the upcoming school term. By combining fan traditions with volunteer service, the event provided vital educational supplies while honouring the couple's philanthropic impact.
