Netflix makes surprise move with early renewal of hit drama ‘Beauty in Black’

Netflix has surprised fans by renewing its hit drama Beauty in Black for a fourth season before the arrival of season 3.

The early renewal confirms that the Bellarie family saga is far from over, despite speculation that the upcoming third season could bring the story to a close.

Creator Tyler Perry, who serves as writer, producer and director on the series, revealed that there are still more chapters to explore.

“Beauty in Black is back for Season 4 and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” Perry told Netflix’s Tudum.

“There was so much more I wanted to explore and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story,” he added.

“To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way!”

The decision comes as no surprise, considering the show’s strong performance on the streaming platform. The first season of Beauty in Black, which premiered in 2024, became a global success and reached the top spot in Netflix rankings across 28 countries.

The series continued its momentum with its follow-up season, which also performed strongly and reached No. 1 in 17 countries.

While season 4 has already been confirmed, Netflix has not yet announced a release date for season 3.

The upcoming installment is expected to arrive later this year, continuing the dramatic story surrounding the powerful Bellarie family.

With its growing fan base and international popularity, Beauty in Black is set to remain one of Netflix’s major drama series for the foreseeable future.
