BLACKPINK star Jennie has unveiled her latest solo single, Less Than a Lover, giving fans the full release of a track she first teased during a live performance last month.

The new song arrives nearly a year after the singer released her debut solo album, Ruby, under her independent label, Odd Atelier.

Unlike the album's previous releases, Less Than a Lover embraces a breezy summer sound, blending romance with a lighthearted, seasonal vibe.

Fans first got a taste of the track when Jennie performed it during her headlining set at the Governors Ball in New York City in June.

The song opens with the lyrics: "Don't rush... Teaching you, teaching me how to trust, don't have to be undercover. It's just us."

Its chorus continues with the repeated refrain: "Need a little bit less than a lover," reflecting the song's theme of exploring a relationship without traditional labels.

Later verses lean into the carefree mood with imagery of sunny days and summer romance, including references to "splashing in the water" and "tan lines."

The release adds another milestone to Jennie's successful solo career, following the strong reception to Ruby, which marked her first full-length album under Odd Atelier.
