Andrew Garfield calls Tom Holland an ‘incredible actor’ as 'Spider-Man'

Andrew Garfield is showing his support for fellow Spider-Man star Tom Holland, describing him as an “incredible actor” and saying he’s excited to watch the latest chapter in the Marvel franchise.

Speaking to Page Six at the New York City premiere of his new film Magic Faraway Tree, Garfield shared his admiration for Holland’s portrayal of Peter Parker.

“I think Tom is an incredible actor playing that character, and I love him and support him, and just want the best for him,” Garfield said.

The actor also made it clear that his affection extends beyond Holland, saying he has always loved the iconic superhero.

“I love Tom. I love Spider-Man; I always have loved Spider-Man since I was 3 years old,” he added.

Garfield also expressed excitement for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the newest installment in the superhero franchise.

“I’m very, very excited to see the film,” he said.

Garfield first donned the Spider-Man suit in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man before reprising the role in the 2014 sequel, succeeding Tobey Maguire, who headlined the original Spider-Man trilogy from 2002 to 2007.

The three actors later united on screen in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, a multiverse blockbuster that brought together Maguire, Garfield and Holland for the first time.

Reflecting on the experience during a 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Holland described working alongside his predecessors as “an amazing experience.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Holland as Peter Parker, officially arrived in theaters on July 31, marking the latest chapter in the Marvel hero’s big-screen journey.
