Amanda Bynes, who was born on April 3, 1986, was comedy’s golden girl but her life had taken a serious turn as she grew up.

Her father, a die-hard catholic, is of Irish, Lithuanian and Polish descent while the mother is Jewish.

The 39-year-old kick started her career as a child appearing on the Nickelodeon Sketch comedy series All That as well as its spin-off series The Amanda Show.

Bynes’ role of Penny Penny Pingleton in the musical comedy movie Hairspray turned out to be a massive hit.

She bagged a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Acting Ensemble and was also nominated at the Screen Guild Awards.

After establishing a firm footing in the industry with her talk show, Bynes further starred in several superhit movies including Big Fat Liar, She's The Man, Hairspray and Easy A on the big screen.

What took a toll upon Bynes flourishing career was her challenge with substance abuse as she was charged for driving under the influence in West Hollywood.

Back in May 2013, she was also accused of marijuana possession after being spotted smoking in the lobby of her Manhattan apartment.

Currently, Amanda Bynes is not engaged. While she exchanged rings with Pual Michael in 2020, they later called it off.
