Jo Lindner, a YouTube bodybuilding star known as Joesthetics, died on Friday at the age of 30. His friends and girlfriend confirmed his shocking death on social media.
Jo Lindner was German fitness influencer, who had 8.5million followers on Instagram and nearly 500 million views on his YouTube channel. He passed away from suffering an aneurysm – a condition in which a bulge is formed in a blood vessel.
Nicha, Lindner’s girlfriend, shared an emotional Instagram post and remembered Lindner as ‘sweet’, ‘strong’ and an ‘amazing and incredible person in this world’.
“Jo is the best place everyone. Yesterday he passed away by aneurysm .. I was there with him in the room.. he put on the necklace in my neck that he made for me,” Nicha wrote.
“we was just lay down cuddle..waiting the time to go meet Noel at the gym at 16.00 ..he was in my arms.. than this is just happening too fast.. 3 days ago he kept said that he pain his neck .. we not really realize it… until it too late,” she concluded.
Lindner had been experiencing pain in his neck prior to his death.
Fans and fellow fitness community members shared condolences. Dr. Amos, star of the show Traitors, expressed his sadness.
Bodybuilder Joseph Shulkin paid tribute and highlighted Jo’s inspiring energy and kind soul. Fans wrote, “I couldn’t believe this post so heart breaking, can’t believe this happened!”
“One of my inspirations, role model and motivations, he will always be in our hearts,” another added.
Earlier in June, Jo, in an interview for an episode of fellow YouTuber Bradley Martyn's Raw Talk, spoke about having rippling muscle disease, "Technically, it's a cramp," he told Martyn.
