Karan Johar walks down memory lane to meeting Shah Rukh Khan for ‘first’ time
Karan Johar recalled meeting Shah Rukh Khan when he was 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' assistant

Karan Johar has recalled meeting the king of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan for the first time when he was a Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge assistant.
KJo suggested SRK to wear “Levi jeans” instead of “Wrangler jeans” on their first meeting.
In a dialogue with the American fashion designer Prabal Gurung, he shared, “I remember my first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan. It was crazy because I remember I was an assistant for DDLJ. I told him, ‘Oh, you know you’re wearing Wrangler jeans. You should wear Levi’s jeans.”
“They’ll just fit you better. He was stunned. I didn’t know what gave me that entitlement I had. And I said, ‘Oh you have an Adam’s apple, you must open your shirt 2-3 buttons.’ So he just kept nodding, and then he said, ‘Will you give me a moment, can you call Adi in?,’” Karan added.
When the Indian filmmaker went outside, Shah Rukh asked “who is he? And why is he talking about my Adam’s apple.”
Then Adil told the Jawan actor that “He’s a townie, they all talk like this.”
Karan mentioned that he was being “very genuine” and eventually Shah Rukh Khan found “amusement” in his suggestions, adding, “he was like, ‘What do you want to do?’ I was like, ‘I want to be a designer.’”
The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director then applauded Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra and credited them for being where he is today.
He praised, “But what I was trying to say is that Shah Rukh and Adi were so amazing in the way they encouraged me.”
