Salma Hayek mourns death of Matthew Perry with touching tribute, 'gone too soon'

Salma Hayek stands among celebrities who are still mourning the loss of Friend sweetheart Matthew Perry, who passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, the House of Gucci actress penned a touching tribute for the Mr. Sunshine actor.
Salma shared photos of herself and Matthew, including one of the two hugging, with a gushing tribute for the 54-year-old actor.
"Two days ago, I woke up to the shocking news that Matthew Perry is no longer with us," Salma wrote in a heartfelt note.
The note further continued, "It's taken me a couple of days to process this profound sadness. There is a special bond that happens when you share dreams with someone, and together you work towards them."
While reflecting on the friendship Hayek and Perry build during the filming of 1997's drama drama Fools Rush, she noted, "I was very moved last year when Matthew shared on his Instagram stories how much he loved Fools Rush In."
The Magic Mike's Last Dance actress continued, "and how he thought that that film we did together was probably his best movie. Throughout the years, he and I found ourselves reminiscing about that meaningful time in our lives with a deep sense of nostalgia and gratitude."
"My friend, you are gone much too soon, but I will continue to cherish your silliness, your perseverance, and your lovely heart. Farewell, sweet Matthew, we will never forget you," added the Desperado actress.
She also shared another group shot featuring George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg, with a screenshot of Matthew speaking about filming Fools Rush.
The snap showed a fan's question: "Is playing Chandler your most treasured role or is it some other role?" to which Matthew responded, "I did a movie that I love called Fools Rush In with @Salmahayek—that was probably my best movie."
Matthew Perry's cause of death:
According to a official report obtained by NBC News, from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Matthew's official cause of death has been "deferred" and the toxicology result is also pending.
