Taylor Swift's Brazil concert halts after devastating heat claims one fan's life

Taylor Swift has postponed her concert in Brazil after one of her fans passed away due to heatwave.

On Saturday, the Lover hitmaker posted a message for her fans on social media, notifying them that her Eras Tour concerts in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at Estadio Nilton, will not go on as planned.

The decision was made due to the “extreme temperatures in Rio”.

Moreover, one day prior to Taylor’s Friday show, her fan passed away.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Saturday, Taylor penned, “I'm writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight's show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio.”

The statement further read, “The safety and well being of my fans, fellow performers and crew has to and will always come first.”

In the latest statement, Taylor did not mention the new date for her Saturday show but Time for Fun, event organizer, noted in a later statement that the show has been rescheduled to Monday.

The event organizer posted on X, “Due to adverse weather conditions today and prioritizing public safety, today's Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at the Nilton Santos Stadium - Engenhão has been rescheduled for Monday, November 20th.All tickets for Saturday's performance will remain valid for Monday's show. More information about tickets and policies for Monday's show will be released soon on the channel: taylorswifttheerastour.com.br.”

Taylor Swift wrote on Friday for her late fan, “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it’s with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show.”

The Karma crooner added, “I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. There’s very little information I have other than the fact she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young.”
