Kate Middleton turns heads with century-old tiara at state event
Kate Middleton graced the event in a rarely-seen 100-year-old tiara during dinner at Buckingham Palace
Kate Middleton caught everyone's attention and exuded timeless grace as she wore a seldom-seen, century-old tiara during a state banquet on Tuesday night.
At the opulent dinner hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace, the Princess of Wales chose an elegant white gown designed by Jenny Packham.
In attendance were the President and First Lady of South Korea, with Prince William and Kate engaging in conversation with Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon Hee.
K-pop sensation Blackpink, comprising Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa was also present during this event.
Kate enhanced her outfit with earrings from Queen Elizabeth, in addition to her Family Order, GCVO sash, and star.
However, Kate opted to wear the Strathmore Rose Tiara, once owned by Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother, gifted to her by her parents in 1923.
This versatile coronet has the flexibility to be worn either on top of the head or positioned across the forehead as a bandeau.
However, the Princess chose to wear it on her head, marking the first time it has been worn in over a century.
The piece, designed to resemble a garland of roses, had previously been showcased at a royal exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 2002.
To complement her profuse ensemble, the Duchess of Cambridge adorned a pair of striking opera-style gloves.
Kate was accompanied by Queen Camilla, who paid homage to her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, by donning her ruby and diamond Burmese tiara.
The tiara of the deceased monarch, crafted in the 1970s, incorporates gemstones sourced from the Nizam of Hyderabad tiara.
Both Kate and Camilla adorned their chests with yellow brooches, featuring a portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II in an evening dress with a ribbon and star of the Order of the Garter.
