Robin Williams' daughter Zelda reminisces past family holidays
Robin Williams' daughter Zelda shared family's holiday traditions while she was growing up
Zelda Williams has reflected on past holidays with her family and their traditions, including her late father, Robin Williams, who died on August 11, 2014.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE magazine at the 21st Annual Unforgettable Gala, the Asian and Pacific Islander Awards in Beverly Hills on December 16, 2023, Zelda shared about the Williams family's holiday traditions while she was growing up.
The Detention actress also mentioned that despite Robin's busy schedule, they bonded over cooking rather than having many festive traditions.
She stated, “Dad's job made it pretty hard to keep anything like a yearly tradition really, aside from Thanksgiving or days when sets would shut down."
“So we didn't really have much in the way of that, but cooking together was a big part of our family, we would eat together every Tuesday, however many family members were in town,” Zelda continued.

Moreover, the Never star also revealed that “not everybody” in the family was hands-on with meal preparation during each gathering.
Zelda jokingly said, “My brothers and my dad were not good cooks,” adding, “But my mom and I would take part, and it was a big part of our family.”
The 34-year-old actress and director also mentioned that spending time with each other was considered to be a priority for the Williams family.
“Being together was the important thing, because otherwise, especially with people scattered to the wind with work, it became even more special to do that," Zelda noted.
She further explained that nowadays, her family's main focus is being together and taking the opportunity to get away during the Christmas holiday.
The Shrimp director explained, “Christmas is not a really big deal in my family. We usually use it to see each other and then just travel,” she said.
Recently, Zelda Williams has directed the new horror/comedy film Lisa Frankenstein, written by Diablo Cody, which is set to release on February 9, 2024.
