'Parasite' star Lee Sun-kyun breathes his last at 48 amidst drug case

Lee Sun-kyun, 48, who was best Known for his role in Oscar winning film Parasite, has been found died on December 27, 2023, amid his drugs case investigation.

According to Soompi, Lee was discovered unconscious in his car in a Seoul park on Wednesday.

As per the reports, police received a note which indicated that the My Mister actor left his home after writing it, while it's uncertain if Lee has committed suicide.

As per the Seoul Seongbuk Police Station “an unconscious man inside a parked car in Seoul’s Waryong Park. They had gone to the site after receiving an emergency call from a woman who said her husband had left the house after writing what appeared to be a suicide note.”

Since October, the 48-year-old actor was being investigated for alleged drug use.

Lee Sun-kyun drug case:

Multiple news outlets reported at that time that Lee was suspected of taking drugs with a bar hostess in Seoul.

The hostess told the police that the Coffee Prince actor consumed drugs at her home for several times.

Later, Lee denied the allegations and claimed that even though he had used what the hostess provided him, but he was unaware that they were illegal drugs and requested a lie detector test.

The Payback actor told  in a statement, “I inhaled using a straw through my nose but thought it was a sleeping pill. I didn’t know it was a drug.”

Despite negative or inconclusive drug test results, the investigation affected his reputation, which later, got him removed from the TV series No Way Out.
