Prince William getaway from Princess Diana's struggles with Ludgrove school
Royal expert explained that for Princess William, school was a break from being his mom's main support

Prince William felt better and less worried during his mom Princess Diana's difficult moments at Ludgrove School, according to royal writer Robert Jobson.
In his book, The Making of a Modern Monarch, he shares that William, who had to support Diana emotionally during her hard moments, went to Ludgrove School to get away from it all.
Jobson explains that for William, school was a break from being his mom's main support.
He wrote, "for William, school was not only fun but a respite from his mother's increasing tendency to lean on him as an emotional crutch"

The school's distance from his family was like a breath of fresh air, giving him a chance to enjoy a more carefree atmosphere.
Former royal press secretary Dickie Arbiter also praised Ludgrove School, saying it was "extremely good" at keeping William and his brother Harry away from the public eye and the challenges at home.
Arbiter mentioned that the school helped the young princes stay away from difficulties.
Ludgrove School wasn't just for royal kids, stating, "William and Harry weren't the only members of a royal family to attend the school and they certainly weren't the only children to come from dysfunctional homes."
