'The Golden Bachelor' star Leslie Fhima undergoes surgery on birthday

The Golden Bachelor  alum Leslie Fhima spent her 65th birthday in the hospital undergoing surgery on December 31, 2023.

As reported by PEOPLE, the American TV personality revealed that instead of a celebration to mark her birthday, she spent her entire time in a hospital having a rather “random” surgery.

She took to her official Instagram account to upload a note on her story that read, “Hey everybody! I know that everyone was just curious to know what I did on my 65th birthday. I spent it in the hospital. Yes, I had a bowel blockage, severe cramping, came into the ER.”

“It was just something so random. Actually, scar tissue from an appendectomy I had when I was 18 years old. If you have severe stomach issues, don't wait 12 hours to go to the hospital like I did," she further penned heeding her followers to seek medical advice if anyone ever suffers severe stomach problems.

The reality dating show contestant assured her supporters that everything would be fine and that she was “very excited” to return home to her dog.

Leslie Fhima talked about her relationship with the Grammy winning artist, Prince earlier in December of 2023 on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast.

The runner-up on Gerry Turner’s inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor,  talked about  her blossoming teenage love with the late When Doves Cry hitmaker back in October on the show’s premiere, but shared more details during the podcast appearance.

“So, Bobby introduced us and I mean we're the same age and we were 18 and he was amazing… And I’d go to his house and he’d play guitar and sing for me. And, you know, he was an amazing person and people think he's so quiet, but he's hysterical. He was just really funny. Again, the humor I love,” Fhima told the podcast hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt.

She also claimed to be the inspiration for the song, Sexy Dancer, Prince’s 1979 single.
