Taylor Tomlinson made her debut appearance on her newly launched show, After Midnight, as the only female host in the CBS line-ups of late-night programs.

As reported by Variety, CBS gave its newly aired show a soft launch on Tuesday night, January 16, 2024 with minimal introduction gigs.

Tomlinson's show airs in the slot followed by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The 30-year-old comedian opened the episode with a comedic punch line, saying, “I’m Taylor Tomlinson and this is After Midnight, where three comedians enter, one wins and two will regret participating.”

“We’re taking the internet and desperately trying to make it fun. It’s gonna be fun, right? Comedians, you’ll be competing for the grand prize of my father’s approval. It is rare but winnable!” she said in her usual cheeky style.

Different panelists on the show take their comedic stance on pop culture, headline and “the dumbest things on the internet.”

In the game show style program, Whitney Cummings, Aparna Nancherla and Kurt Braunohler participated as the first round of  panelists on After Midnight.

Taylor Tomlinson's take on the 2024 Emmy Awards:

Taylor Tomlinson also referenced the Emmy Awards held on Monday night saying, “No matter where you stand politically, you can’t deny the Emmys were yesterday.”

Enthusiastically, she continued, “And I was there. They’ll invite anyone. Did you guys watch the Emmys?” As the comedians remained silent she joked, “There’s no obligation, it was on Fox.”

“This will do well on the internet!” remarked Kurt Braunohler.

Reflecting on her ambitions for After Midnight to be nominated in next year’s Emmys, Tomlinson said, “I don’t even know what awards our show can possibly win, because it’s kind of a talk show where there’s no conversation. It’s a game show but the points are fake. It’s vanity project but it somehow makes me look worse.

“Panelists, what award would After Midnight win at the Emmys?” she asked the comedians.

Braunohler chimed in saying, “Best Female late night host! Sorry, only female late night host.”

After Midnight is CBS’s latest night show taking over the slot of the now discontinued, The Late Late Show with James Corden. It can be streamed on the OTT platform, Paramount+.
