Sania Mirza breaks silence on ex-husband Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed marriage

Shoaib Malik's third marriage to actress Sana Javed has stirred a wave of reactions, particularly from the family of his second wife, tennis sensation Sania Mirza.

A family insider informed PTI that it was a 'khula,' indicating the Muslim woman's right to unilaterally divorce her husband. Notably, in the initial PTI report, the identical statement was credited to Imran Mirza, Sania's father.

The family also shared the statement that reads, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now.”

It added, “She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy. The Mirza Family & Team Sania.”

Earlier on Saturday, Malik took to social media to share a photo with Javed and captioned it: "And We created you in pairs."

The announcement comes amidst swirling speculations about potential discord between Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza.

They has seldom been seen together over the past couple of years, fueling numerous reports suggesting a rift, although there has been no official confirmation of a separation.

Shoaib and Sania entered matrimony in April 2010 in Hyderabad, the Indian player's hometown, and resided in Dubai.

The couple welcomed their son, Ihzaan Mirza Malik, in October 2018, who currently resides with Sania.

Interestingly, this development also marks Sana Javed's second marriage. She had previously tied the knot with singer Umair Jaiswal in 2020 in a simple ceremony.
