Sex and the City is ready to make its premiere on Netflix with all its seasons to stream on the platform.

As reported Variety, Carrie Bradshaw along with all the other Sex and the City characters are set to make their debut on OTT platform in early April 2024.

The outlet also confirmed that Netflix sealed the deal with Warner Bros. Discovery and acquired the license to all six seasons, comprising all 94 episodes of the popular HBO dramedy.

According to sources familiar with the deal, Sex and the City will be available to stream in the U.S. and several other European markets.

This Netflix debut does not include the two SATC feature-length films of the series, nor the recent spin-off titled, And Just Like That, which is currently streaming only on WBD’s Max.

Warner Bros. Discovery licensed a handful of other older HBO originals to Netflix, last year, a once unthinkable feat on behalf of the premium cable TV brand.

HBO projects now streaming on Netflix include Issa Rae’s Insecure, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Six Feet Under and Ballers.

Regarding their earnings, the chief of Warner Bros. David Zaslav said, “We are in the business of monetizing content through windows.”

Even though the company’s domain remains exclusively on Max for revenue generation and subscriber count, he continued, “there’s a lot of content that’s not being consumed heavily on Max, and so those are the easy ones” to opt to license to third parties.

Sex and the City is an adaptation of Candace Bushnell’s book anthology of the same title and originally premiered on HBO from 1998-2004.

Sarah Jessica Parker stars as the famous Carrie Bradshaw along with the drama’s co-stars Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall.
