King Charles diagnosed with cancer after undergoing a procedure to treat enlarge prostrate last month.

On Monday, the official X account of the Buckingham palace  released a statement to share a sad update regarding the health of the Monarch.

"‘During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," said the palace in a statement.


The statement continued, "His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual."

"The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible," the Buckingham Palace statement added. 

It concluded noting, "His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."

This new update from the Buckingham palace comes 10 days after his enlarge prostrate treatment.

Charles spent three nights at the hospital after he underwent the procedure.

The royal family on their Instagram account shared a photo of King leaving alongside Queen Camilla from the hospital.

King Charles photo was accompanied with a "Thank you" note for the well-wishers.

"Thank you to all those who have sent their good wishes during The King’s hospital stay. His Majesty is delighted that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness," read the caption.
