Jimmy Kimmel shared some insights into his experiences and future as a potential Oscars host
Jimmy Kimmel shared some insights into his experiences and future as a potential Oscars host.
In an interview with Variety, the beloved host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! recalled his first attempt to attend Oscars in 1990s by sneaking into the Governors Ball.
Kimmel have been a familiar face at the Oscars host, he joked about assumptions of permanent hosting position, stating, "you assume I've been asked about next year, which is not a presumption I would ever make."
He shared that with this year's nominations featuring popular films like, Oppenheimer and Barbie, it will be easier to come up with jokes.
"It’s hard to make jokes about things people don’t know, so having movies where most of the room has seen them helps a lot. In a lot of ways, it’s why Trump jokes work so well. You don’t have to explain him at all before you can get right to the punch line," he said.
Despite the demands of hosting the Oscars alongside his nightly talk show, Kimmel remains dedicated to delivering an engaging experience for viewers. However, his future beyond his current ABC deal remains uncertain, as he teased, "People seem very interested in when I’m going to leave...I suppose I could say, 'I will continue doing this until I’m dead,' but it’s not true."
