Emma Stone claims Best Actress Oscar for 'Poor Things' amid dress mishap

Emma Stone received Oscars for the Best Actress in Poor Things at 96th Academy Awards.
The film, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, features Stone as Bella Baxter in a period fantasy comedy adapted from Alasdair Gray's novel.
This victory marks Stone's second Oscar in the Best Actress category, previously winning for her role in La La Land in 2017.
She has also received nominations for supporting roles in Birdman and The Favourite.
Stone's triumphant moment was accompanied by a dress mishap as in her acceptance speech, she humorously expressed, “My dress is broken. I think it happened during 'I'm Just Ken.”
Expressing her gratitude, The Amazing Spider-Man actress acknowledged her fellow nominees and the entire team behind Poor Things.

During her speech she said, “The other night, I was panicking, as you can kind of see, happens a lot — that maybe something like this could happen and Yorgos said to me, please take yourself out of it, and he was right, because it’s not about me. It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts.”
Addressing to her director, Yorgos Lanthimos, she added, “Thank you for the gift of a lifetime in Bella Baxter.”
