Shakira has made a revelation as she discussed her past vocal approach and said she thought she used to "overdo" her signature yodel on some of her older songs.
The Waka Waka crooner shared the details on a recent episode of Hot Ones, where she was asked by the host Sean Evans what makes her “cringe or wince” when listening to her music from early in her career.
Shakira said, “So many things. I think I used to overdo the cries in my voice,” adding, think it was exaggerated. A little baroque. You know?”
“Too much Shakira,” she quipped.

Shakira, who recently released her 12th studio album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran in March, also explained how she believes her artistic development has progressed throughout time, using her voice as one example.
“I noticed that after my pregnancies, my voice got thicker, more rounded, more full,” the Grammy-winning artist said, referring to her two sons with whom she shares with her ex-partner Gerard Piqué.
She added, “Also, my choices are more mature. I have evolved as a woman, as a person, my intellect has evolved.”
