The Sandman is reportedly ending with season 2 on Netflix.

According to Variety, Netflix confirmed that the release of Season 2 remains on schedule, with episodes set to debut in 2025 amid its creator, Neil Gaiman's recent scandals, following multiple sexual harassment allegations against him.

The acclaimed series first premiered in August 2022 and was soon greenlit for another season as it was well-received by both critics and audiences.

Moreover, the reports suggested that the decision to end the series was made before the allegations surfaced, with the production team concluding by mid-2023 that a third season would not be necessary.

The season 2 will bring significant developments to Dream’s story. The cast will see the return of familiar faces from Season 1.

In May 2024, it was announced that Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester and Barry Sloane had joined the cast as fellow Endless Delirium, Destiny and The Prodigal respectively.

For the unversed, The Sandman   features Tom Sturridge as Dream/Morpheus, Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Patton Oswalt as the voice of Matthew the Raven, and Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine.
