Sometimes too many tourists can become a huge problem, especially when 10,000 people swarm a ski resort, leading to packed slopes, heavy traffic, and even emergency measures.

According to local media, influencer Rita De Crescenzo from Naples played a key role in attracting visitors by sharing videos on TikTok and other platforms promoting the snowy experience.

On Sunday, Roccaraso, a popular Italian ski resort, saw a surge of visitors after viral social media posts about recent snowfall prompted Naples-based tour companies to organize affordable bus trips.

This led to an influx of 220 tour buses, along with cars filled with curious day-trippers, making the two-hour, 130-kilometer journey, causing blockages on the resort's narrow roads and frustrating its 1,500 local residents.

The tour groups, who spent $20 for the trip, which included a sandwich, were blamed for disrupting the slopes by ignoring ski rules and using makeshift sleds, such as saucepans.

Some tourists were seen in social media videos lighting barbecues to stay warm or cook food, while others were accused of leaving trash.

As her videos gained traction, several low-cost and affordable tour companies joined in, promoting trips.

Responding on Wednesday, De Cresenzo refused to take responsibility for the traffic chaos, stating, "I made such a beautiful advertisement for Roccaraso where I was on Monday and Tuesday and the crowd went crazy because I put up wonderful videos."
