Lily Allen’s close friends have come forward and commented on her marriage problems with David Harbour, confirming that their relationship had been suffering for a long time.

The 39-year-old English singer and the 49-year-old American actor have decided to go their separate ways after only four years of marriage.

An insider close to the singer told People, "Her marriage has been crumbling."

She knew her marriage was officially over when she found the Stranger Things star was active on the celebrity dating app Raya.

After seeking help at an £8,000-a-week trauma center, the singer came back to social media on Monday, posting her first clicks since the emotional split.

Last month, reports surfaced that the singer admitted herself to a facility after confiding in friends that she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown following her break-up from David.

Back in January, Lily announced that she plans to step away from her podcast, which she hosts with her best friend Miquita Oliver, for a while but requested fans to dismiss any rumours regarding her break to a return to rehab for past drug addiction.

On Sunday, DailyMail reported that the Smile hitmaker’s Mental Health only got worse after she came back from her holiday to her marital home in New York last week.

While staying at their Brooklyn townhouse, she reportedly felt "triggered" by the idea of her husband being somewhere in the city accompanied by another woman.

"It was very painful for Lily to return home. David used to be her saviour and now he's a trigger for her," a source stated.
