YouTube is working on a new feature that would allow users to set a daily time limit for watching YouTube Shorts.

This development highlights the increasing concern about the impact of social media on users' habits and their well-being.

According to recent findings from the beta version of the YouTube app, the video streaming platform is developing a feature to help users manage their time spent on Shorts.

The feature would allow users to set a specific daily time limit for watching Shorts, measured in hours. Once the time limit is reached, YouTube Shorts would pause and become unavailable for the rest of the day.

However, users might still be able to access individual Shorts.

It should be noted that YouTube already offers a "Take a Break" reminder feature for longer videos.

The potential new feature is part of a growing trend among tech companies to provide tools that help users manage their screen time and reduce social media addiction.

Notably, other companies, such as Apple and Google, also offer features to help users limit their screen time.

YouTube also confirmed that while the feature is not currently being publicly tested, the company is exploring this for the future.
