Charli XCX addresses beef with Lorde in surprise joint performance

Charli XCX set fire to the Coachella stage over the weekend on Saturday, April 12, and invited a host of her famous celebrity friends to join the singer during her set at the popular music festival.

One such celebrity to join her on the stage was Lorde, who was previously embroiled in a complicated beef with the British singer, spanning a few years.

Lorde joined the Brat singer on-stage to perform their hit single Girl, so confusing, a song that addressed their relationship with each other.

Through the song, the two singers shared their complex emotions, like envy and admiration, for each other.

Charli, who ushered in the Brat summer phenomenon that took the world by storm last year, embraced her 28-year-old counterpart following their joint performance and declared, “Lorde summer 2025!”

According to latest developments, Lorde is expected to release new music in an eagerly awaited comeback later this year.

The New Zealander native is known for releasing music every four years; with debut album Pure Heroine in 2013, then  Melodrama in 2017, and her last album titled Solar Power   having been released in 2021.

Fans made the connection between the lyrics of the supposed conflict between the two artists due to lyrics like “We’ve got the same hair” and “You’re all about writing poems” in their joint single.

While Lorde and Charli XCX surprised the audience at Coachella, some of the other famous musical guests to also stop by during the set included Billie Eilish and Troye Sivan.
