Robert De Niro 'finally responds' to daughter Airyn De Niro's huge revelation

Robert De Niro, best known for his role in The Godfather Part II, has a daughter, Airyn De Niro, who has come out as a transgender.

The 80-year-old actor has nothing but love and support to offer to his daughter.

Speaking to TMZ, Robert confessed, "I loved and supported Aaron as my son, and now I love and support Airyn as my daughter."

He reiterated, saying, "I don’t know what the big deal is…I love all my children."

Airyn opened up in an interview with Them about how she feels embracing her new identity.

"There’s a difference between being visible and being seen. I’ve been visible. I don’t think I’ve been seen yet," she shared.

The aspiring actress also addressed those publications who labeled her a "nepo baby", she responded, "I wasn’t brought up having a side part in one of dad’s movies or going to business meetings or attending premieres. My dad was very big on us finding our own sort of path... I would want [success] to happen on my own merit."

Airyn added, "Obviously, no parent is perfect, but I am grateful that both my parents agreed to keep me out of the limelight.”

Following her announcement of coming out as a trans woman, she took to her Instagram to express gratitude for the people who supported her.

"Thank you to everyone who’s been so sweet and supportive! I’m not used to all these eyes on me," she wrote.

To note, Robert De Niro has seven children in total. He shares Airyn De Niro and her twin brother with her former partner, Toukie Smith.
