Jennifer Garner reveals why she won’t attend Met Gala
The American actress has not been to the Met Gala since 2007
Jennifer Garner can safely confirm that she will not be seen on the red carpet for the annual fashion party thrown by Vogue any time soon, and the reason is quite simple.
“I went to the Met ball exactly one time. I found it a little scary so I haven’t been back,” the 13 Going on 30 actress told Vogue during an episode of the magazine’s Beauty Secrets series in December 2023.
Notably, the 53-year-old star attended the glitzy gala back in May of 2007, when the ceremony paid tribute to the late fashion designer, Paul Poiret with the theme called Poiret: King of Fashion.
Nonetheless, she recalled fond memories of her attendance from 18 years ago, sharing her enthusiasm about being the iconic Italian designer, Valentino Garavani’s date, in one of his bespoke creations for her.
“I wore—that night—this magical red Valentino gown. And I was his date and that was really majestic and special,” Jennifer Garner expressed.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Met Gala boasts the theme of Black style and the history of dandyism, and will be chaired by Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky and LeBron James alongside Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
