King Charles appears in high spirits as Prince Edward set to leave UK

King Charles met with his brother Prince Edward before he left The United Kingdom to be the face of the Royal Family as the world gears up to watch the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV.

The 76-year-old monarch seemed to be in high spirits, sharing a cheerful moment at the Royal Windsor Horse Show together on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

It is quite a rare sight to see the King and the 61-year-old Duke of Edinburgh meet without any members from the royal family present.

Since 1943, the horse show which is annually hosted at Windsor Castle has been a long-standing favourite of Queen Elizabeth. She continued to attend the event, making her last ever appearance in 2022, just months before her passing.

Charles was seen looking dapper in a more relaxed look, rocking a pair of Serengeti sunglasses and as he sported a grey jacket matched with a blue and green striped tie.

The fashionable pair of shades he had opted to wear featured chic tortoiseshell frames with reflective olive-green lenses.

Meanwhile, his brother Edward donned a sophisticated swish country-style jacket and tie, similar style and patterns to his older brother’s attire.
