Prince Edward emerges as rising figure in Royal family
Prince Edward confidently takes on Royal duties
Prince Edward is formally recognised for a significant future role within the royal family.
Stepping in for King Charles, the 61-year-old Duke of Edinburgh attended the inaugural mass of Pope Leo earlier this month.
Fulfilling Royal duties, he also represented the 76-year-old Monarch and Prince Williams at Pope Francis’ funeral, joining many world leaders in attendance.
This marks the intentional growing presence at royal events and continued rise in public duties for the King’s brother, according to a Royal source.
Talking to The Express, the source confidently called the Duke the "future."
"He’s the future," the insider stated.
In addition to stepping in for the Royals, Prince Edward joined Charles and the Prince of Wales at numerous major occasions.
Edward also attended the Buckingham Palace garden party with his wife Sophie with Kate Middleton and Prince William.
After skipping the event last year due to her battle with cancer, the Princess of Wales stepped forward and hosted the event this year as King Charles and Queen Camilla had other commitments that had them occupied.
The Duke and his wife made a notable appearance, walking behind the hosts during the grand entrance.
He also met with his brother, making a rare appearance King Charles at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
