Kylie Jenner has come out publicly about why exactly she stays away from colour, and why she’s settled for striking black fashion pieces for the entire award season this year.
The mogul certainly showed up for the critics in the various red carpets she attended with her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, and to everyone’s surprise, there was actually a plan to all that minimalism.
One of Jenner’s more recent interviews had her explaining why she decided to opt for dark gowns claiming it was meant for polish understatement. “The moment needs to speak for itself, and black is simply effortless, yet timeless,” she said.
While her gown strategy was clearly aimed at maintaining balance, her partner was already stealing the show with his award winning performances.
At least with her, there is no fighter, only plenty of support. To put it simply, each look was easy in terms of colour, but very complex in terms of design, including sharp tailoring, luxe fabrics, and sculptural silhouettes.
This stunning move garnered plenty of praise, with and without agenda from fashion critics and fans, as they praised Jenner’s ability to remain chic and not outshine her partner.
The red carpet strutting style icon truly proved that sometimes it is just striking to forget about overcomplicating things, and that simple intent and snug style can be the go-to accessory.
