Apple AirPods get new features at WWDC 2025
Apple has revealed exciting new features coming to its AirPods lineup at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025, introducing enhancements aimed at content creators and everyday users.
The Cupertino-based tech giant announced studio-quality audio recording and camera remote control as key upgrades for select AirPods models.
The audio improvements, powered by Apple’s H2 chip, beamforming microphones, and advanced computational audio, will allow users to record high-fidelity audio, even in noisy environments.
Whether you’re taking an iPhone or FaceTime call, recording a podcast, or using voice apps, the updated AirPods promise a more natural and professional sound experience.
Notably, these audio capabilities will be available on the upcoming AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and the second-generation AirPods Pro.
According to Apple, the technology aims to bring recording capabilities closer to what professional studios offer, helping users capture clearer vocals and more immersive audio.
Additionally, the company has introduced a gesture-based camera control feature.
By pressing and holding the stem of the AirPods, users can remotely trigger the iPhone’s camera or compatible third-party camera apps.
This gesture can be customised to take a photo or start a video recording, offering hands-free convenience, particularly appealing for vloggers, content creators, and social media users who want to capture spontaneous moments without reaching for their phones.
