Grounded 2 release time, date, and early access details confirmed

Fans of survival and crafting games are in for a treat as Grounded 2 officially enters early access on July 29, 2025.

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, this highly anticipated sequel to the popular Honey, I Shrunk the Kids-inspired adventure was revealed during the Xbox Game Showcase in June.

Now, the title is set to launch globally on both Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview.

The early access release is scheduled to go live at 10am PT on July 29. To make things easier, here’s a breakdown of the launch times across key regions:

• Los Angeles: 10am PT
• Chicago: 12pm CT
• New York: 1pm ET
• London: 6pm BST
• Berlin: 7pm CEST
• Beijing: 1am CST (July 30)
• Seoul: 2am KST (July 30)
• Auckland: 5am NZST (July 30)

Players can access the game via Xbox Game Pass through the Microsoft Store or purchase it directly on Steam at the same time.

While a full 1.0 release date for Grounded 2 has not yet been confirmed, the original game remained in early access for over two years.

However, Obsidian has planned to take a different approach this time, with updates arriving every four to five months.

According to game director Chris Parker, these updates will be larger and more content-rich compared to the previous installment.
