Sabrina Carpenter finally responds to online criticism over performances: 'Clearly You Love Sex'
Sabrina Carpenter’s upcoming album 'Man’s Best Friend' is set to be released on August 29

Sabrina Carpenter has finally broken silence on the constant online hate she receives for oversexualising her songs and performances.
The 26-year-old pop icon spoke to Rolling Stone for their June cover story where she detailed about her hit song Juno and her explicitly bold performances of it during her Short n’ Sweet tour.
"It’s always so funny to me when people complain," Carpenter told the publication.
She went on to explain, "They’re like, 'All she does is sing about this' but those are the songs that you’ve made popular. Clearly you love sex. You’re obsessed with it. It’s in my show."
"There’s so many more moments than the 'Juno' positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on," the Espresso singer said, adding, "I can’t control that. If you come to the show, you’ll [also] hear the ballads, you’ll hear the more introspective numbers."
Elsewhere in the interview, the Nonsense songstress noted that female artists are often subjected to more backlash and scrutiny as compared to their male counterparts.
Carpenter stated, "I truly feel like I’ve never lived in a time where women have been picked apart more, and scrutinized in every capacity."
She concluded by admitting that "we just have to grow thicker skin, but they don’t have to learn how to shut their mouths."
On the work front, Sabrina Carpenter’s upcoming seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend is set to be released on August 29, 2025.
