Cynthia Erivo reflects on life after 'Wicked'
'Wicked: For Good' is set to release on November 21, 2025

Cynthia Erivo has recently came forward and detailed how her life transformed after starring as Elphaba on the hit musical film Wicked.
The 38-year-old British actress and singer, who has earned Tony Award, Grammy Award and an Emmy, has been celebrated for her stage and screen performances but she garnered even greater recognition after working on Jon M. Chu's 2024 film adaptation of Wicked.
Talking to Billboard, she expressed that she remains firm on the decision to keep her life private and away from the public eye, despite becoming a household name.
"I think there is an interesting thing that happens, where it's assumed that because you're in the public eye, everything is for everyone," she said.
"But being in the public eye does not stop you from being a human being, you just have eyes on you now. I am totally OK to share some of my life, whenever you see me on the stage, whenever you hear me sing, whenever you see me act, I am sharing," Cynthia continued.
The Outsider actress emphasised that although her chosen career is public facing, her life outside of the professional world is not for public consumption and her being a celebrity doesn’t entitle others to full access to her personal life.
"I should be able to keep something for myself."
Cynthia stars alongside Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, in the hit musical. It’s sequel Wicked: For Good is dated to release this year on November 21, 2025.
