GTA VI trailer 3 fan theories take off as hype builds for gameplay reveal

While the anticipation for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI continues to build, fans have already launched into full conspiracy mode over when Rockstar Games will release the highly awaited third trailer.

Although no official date has been announced, the internet is buzzing with speculation about both the timing and content of the upcoming trailer.

As of now, Rockstar has released two trailers, each offering very different insights into the game. 

The debut trailer delivered a visual showcase with cinematic scenes and sweeping shots of Vice City's open world, but it stopped short of showing actual gameplay.

Meanwhile, the second trailer offered a deeper narrative dive, introducing players to the game's main characters, Lucia and Jason, a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde-style criminal duo, yet still no gameplay.

However, now, with GTA VI delayed until 2026, fans aren't holding their breath for an imminent release, but many believe the third trailer will drop before the end of 2025.

Popular theories online include a December 2025 release to coincide with pre-order announcements, while others speculate Rockstar could wait until early 2026.

Among fans, there's growing consensus that the third trailer must finally feature gameplay. 

With the story and setting already teased, showcasing actual mechanics and in-game action feels like the logical next step, especially if Rockstar plans to open pre-orders shortly after.

While nothing is confirmed yet, it’s clear that GTA VI's marketing rollout has fans hanging on every clue, and the countdown to trailer three has unofficially begun.
