Vietnam's DANAFF launches a two-day industry programme at its fourth edition in June 2026
The programme is scheduled for 30 June and 1 July midway through the 28 June to 4 July festival
Vietnam's Danang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) will introduce a dedicated industry programme — DANAFF Industry Days — at its fourth edition in June, bringing together ten Vietnamese production companies and invited international buyers for slate presentations and one-to-one business meetings.
Programme details
Scheduled for 30 June and 1 July — midway through the festival's run from 28 June to 4 July in Da Nang — the programme builds on DANAFF's introduction of a project market in 2025.
It will open with a keynote address on the Vietnamese film market before moving into slate showcases from ten of the country's leading studios, including Galaxy Studio, CJ CGV Vietnam, BHD|Vietnam Media Corp., Mockingbird Pictures, HKFilm, and 89sGROUP.
A dedicated panel series, DANAFF Industry Talks, will explore the dynamics, opportunities, and challenges facing Vietnamese and Southeast Asian cinema.
The case for a dedicated platform
Jérémy Segay, a veteran Asian film industry expert appointed as adviser to the new programme, said: "Vietnam's film sector has reached a stage where a dedicated industry platform is essential, as international interest in understanding its dynamics continues to expand.
"At the same time, local productions are gaining in confidence, craft and ambition, with clear potential to travel beyond diaspora audiences. For this inaugural edition, we aim to welcome 25 international buyers."
A vision for creative and business exchange
Ngo Phuong Lan, chair of the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA) and director of DANAFF, said: "By launching DANAFF Industry Days, we aim to establish a platform that fosters both creative and business exchanges between Vietnamese film professionals and their peers from the region and beyond.
"The program is designed to offer international participants a practical framework to connect with key players in our industry and discover what Vietnamese cinema has to offer in the coming year, while experiencing the festival in the vibrant coastal city of Da Nang.
"Participating distributors will also have the option to extend their stay to attend the DANAFF Project Market on July 2 and 3."
The wider festival programme
Alongside Industry Days, the festival encompasses the Asian Film Competition, Vietnamese Film Competition, and DANAFF Talents, as well as a series of international seminars.
Confirmed topics include a focus on American cinema, a retrospective look at Vietnamese filmmaking in the four decades since the Đổi Mới reforms, and panel discussions on digital technology, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property protection. The full selection will be announced at a press conference in Hanoi on 2 June.
