Jennifer Aniston reportedly still could not get over a tragic loss from her past.

It’s no secret that the 57-year-old actress rose to fame in her 20s as Rachel Green in 90s popular sitcom, Friends.

However, before starring in the 1994’s NBC hit series, the We're the Millers star was in love with fellow struggling actor Daniel McDonald, whom she began dating in 1990.

As per Radar Online’s source, when Aniston met MCDonald, who was nine years to her, she felt safe as he was protective of her.

“Jen and Dan dated for almost five years before she landed the role of Rachel Green on Friends,” the insider revealed, adding, “And while Dan was happy for her success, they'd talked about moving back to New York – something Dan wanted because his goal was to perform on Broadway.”

The source dished out, “He considered himself more of a New York theater guy, and he and Jen had pretty much made a pact to go back.

According to our source, Aniston opted for a hard decision and stayed in California for the sake of her career.

The insider confided that the two initially kept in touch but with time, they drifted apart.

Tragically, he passed away due to terminal brain cancer in 2006 at the age of 46 and source revealed that the Murder Mystery actress was devastated.
